The Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation offers grant programs that help conserve Saskatchewan’s unique heritage. We may also sponsor important events in the communities we serve. Downloadable application forms can be found at the bottom of this page.

Built Heritage Grant

The grant provides funding for municipally or provincially designated heritage properties. Our funding can help with costs relating to the stabilization and restoration of these buildings.

One-Time Grant for Non-Designated Commercial Heritage Property

This one-time grant provides up to $10,000 to assist the owners of undesignated heritage property with façade and stabilization work. The grant aims to promote the conservation and adaptive re-use of commercial heritage buildings in Saskatchewan and raise awareness of the benefits of heritage designation.

On-site Archeology or Palaeontology Research Grants

The Archaeology and Palaeontology Research Grant Program is designed to fund new field-based projects and/or analysis of archaeological or palaeontological collection(s) in order to develop an understanding of the extent and nature of archaeological or palaeontological site(s).   Research must be original.

Community Engagement Grant

The Foundation does, from time to time and at the discretion of the Board of Directors, choose to invest in an event or series of events in the community. Heritage events will only be considered for investments when they occur at a provincial level. If you wish to be considered by the Board, submit a proposal describing the event and indicating the amount of financial support you are requesting. As the Board does not meet on a set schedule, it is good practice to submit your proposal well in advance of the event itself. Questions or letters of request may be emailed to suzanne.pambrun@gov.sk.ca.
